Thanet Heating Combination Boiler Policy
Here at Thanet Heating we are committed to giving our customers the best value for their money, With this in view we recommend you read our Combination Boiler Policy carefully before any works are carried out.
If a combination boiler is over 10-12 years old and has a fault we generally will always recommend a replacement*. Our reason for this is due to the age of the boiler and more often than not when one component fails then other components tend to follow suit and also breakdown, leading to futher repair and part costs. Of course, there are always exceptions but generally speaking, over decades of experience, we have found that customers who choose repair over replacement on boilers of this age tend to end up paying out way more in the long run.
We understand how frustrating it is for a customer who has paid for a repair or replacement part only to shortly after have to pay out again for another repair on the same boiler. We want to save our customers this disappointment by always recommending the more financially prudent option.
Combination boilers are quicker and easier to install than a conventional system but do not have the same longevity. We recommend to all our customers to follow our engineer’s advice where possible and to really weigh up the pros and cons when deciding whether to proceed with a repair versus a new boiler install.
* If the fault is just a refill or re-set due to a power failure then this would not constitute a fault.
